A Note From Pastor Bruce G. Chesser
Last week, I failed to mention all of the families with new additions that we celebrated in service. In addition to the two families mentioned before, Tyler and Shelby Duty brought their newborn, Beckham, born on December 9, 2024, before the church for prayer. Additionally, Tyler and Rebecca Flynn presented their son, Michael to the church family, born on August 30, 2024. And lastly, we celebrated with Andy and M’Call Marcum as they brought MaryCollins before the church. Last Sunday was MaryCollins’ first birthday, having been born on February 23, 2024. What a joy it was to celebrate with all of these families!
This morning we will study the final verses of Acts 2. This passage describes the very first church of the New Testament. It should become our model for what we are doing and how we measure success.
Thank you for gathering today with the body of Christ. It is a joy to be a part of this community of faith.

We have the joy of celebrating Phil and Cyndie Hoyt’s 25th anniversary on staff at FBCH. That is quite an accomplishment and unique milestone few ministers experience.
I jokingly refer to Phil as the “Godfather of Preschool.” Without question, he is one of the most respected leaders in preschool ministry across the nation. When Phil speaks, people listen.
But it is more than just years of experience. Phil has developed a ministry to our “youngest ones” that is second to none. He pours all of himself into his staff, leaders, parents, and kids. And Cyndie has been right alongside Phil serving in numerous ministries through the years.
The Bible instructs us to give honor where honor is due. And, honor is certainly due Phil Hoyt for 25 years. May there be many more!
It is a joy to serve you.
